This project is a culvert Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) project intended to improve the stream habitat and allow for better riverine flow. Numerous endangered species are know to this area and the winning bidder will demonstrate extreme care with all aspects of site work, erosion control and project completion. Working with project managers, biologists and county personnel may be required. Bidders should bid knowing that no change orders will be permitted as the project budget is grant funded with no contingency. No site plan or geo technical data is available for this site. Bidders should bid accordingly. Permits and or authorizations for the site work have been obtained by the funder.
The scope of work will entail:
Traffic control and notifications
Sediment and erosion control BMPS
Removal of 2 culverts, one concrete and one ABS with concrete abutment.
Removal of debris
Installation of a double barrel culvert with minimum 20% embedded invert at site one, grade to match reference reach of the stream. Culverts to be 4x6 concrete ASTM C GDOT box culvert standard LOCATION: 34°58'3.38"N 84°53'34.61"W
Installation of a single 4x6 concrete ASTM C GDOT box culvert at site B with 20% minimum embedded invert. LOCATION: 34°58'18.69"N 84°53'45.04"W
Any demolition or tree removal necessary to install culverts and align the culverts to flow conditions and grade.
Build back the road base to meet Whitfield County standard for paved roads.
Any other necessary actions needed to successfully complete the culvert, adjoining habitat, and road reconstruction as accepted by Whitfield County and Limestone Valley RC&D
