No-till drill rental program
Need to rent a no-till drill?
Planting the traditional way means four or five trips across a field and about five gallons of fuel per acre. A no-till drill does it in one trip, at about half a gallon.
Limestone Valley offers no-till drill rentals to landowners across all eleven counties through a partnership with the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission and local Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The program has been running for decades.
What is it?
No-till planting cuts a shallow slit in the soil, drops the seed, and covers it, all in a single pass. Because you're not disturbing the soil, it holds moisture better, compacts less, and loses far less to erosion. Studies show it can reduce erosion by up to 95 percent compared to conventional plowing. Over time, healthier soil means better yields.
Who is eligible?
Any landowner in the Limestone Valley service area:

How it works
Each county has a local custodian who manages scheduling. You bring your seed to the site, sign a rental agreement, and operate the drill yourself. Rental cost is based on acreage planted, tracked by a meter on the equipment.
